What is EmPower+?
The EmPower+ New York Program, funded by NYSERDA, helps income-eligible New Yorkers lower their energy costs through no-cost home energy improvements like:
- Insulation upgrades
- Air sealing
- LED lighting
- Heating and cooling improvements
Who Qualifies?
You may be eligible if:
- You live in a 1–4 family home or apartment in New York State.
- You meet income guidelines (ex: HEAP, SNAP, or other public assistance).
- You are responsible for paying the energy bills.
How to Apply (in 3 Simple Steps):
- Complete the EmPower+ Application Form

- Select Your Contractor
When asked to select or confirm your energy contractor, make sure to choose: Mohawk Valley Energy Solutions
- Wait for a Follow-up Call or Email
NYSERDA or a partnering agency will contact you to verify your information and walk you through the next steps.
